Campaign finance reports, 1974-2003.

Reports required by section 11.06, Wis. Stats., contain financial information including receipts and expenditures of candidates for statewide, legislative, and judicial elections, political party committees, and political action committees. The information is presented in both summary and detail form. The summary report contains cumulative totals of receipts and expenditures for given report periods and for the calendar year. The detailed reports contain the following information: (a) name and address of individuals who contributed more than $20, their occupations, and the name and address of their principal place of business; (b) contributions received from other committees and the name and address of each donor; (c) other income the committee received in the form of refunds and/or commercial loans; (d) expenditures made on behalf of the committee for political purposes per section 11.01(16), Wis. Stats, and for other administrative and solicitation purposes (disclosure includes the name of the payee, purpose of expenditure, and amount); (e) contributions made to other committees and the name, address, and amount; and (f) incurred obligations, amount, and purpose. Also any related correspondence dealing with the reports are contained in this series.

The Elections Board was created by Chapter 334, Laws of 1973, which transferred responsibility for administration of the state's election laws to the Board from the Secretary of State. The Elections Board was eliminated by Wisconsin Act 1 and its duties were assigned to the Government Accountability Board beginning September 1, 2007.
